French - Class 84 and 810

You will need a 1.5 inch binder, 1 duotang for your portfolio and a French/English Dictionary.

Learning Goals for Progress/Term 1 
All of the assessments bolded below have been graded and given back to students to put in their portfolio and share with their parents.  Once an assessment is complete students will receive it with a result within a reasonable time frame.

Oral: Use French to communicate with my teacher and classmates and participate frequently in class and uses key vocabulary and phrases (Assessments: Dialogue conversation, Class participation using French, fast-food restaurant skit dialogue and cahier page 11 conversation).

Listening:  Use a variety of comprehension strategies (e.g., key words, verb conjugation) before, during, and after listening to understand oral texts (Assessments: Follows Daily Class Directions, Unit Related Listening Exercises - listen to an audio excerpt and cahier sheets page 66 and 14).


Reading: Reads material with a comprehension of the main ideas (Unit 1 Vocab., Unit 1 Reading Quiz pages 68/69)

Writing: Responds accurately in writing by answering questions and restating information (Assessments: I am Poem, Review Quiz 1 with Study Guide Resource , Unit 1 Vocab. and Verb Quiz, Cahier page 11 Question Responses).

If you are not at school it is your responsibility to get caught up on what you have missed. Please have a homework buddy.

Google Slides are shared rather than Power Points because they are updated on a regular basis
  • First few weeks of school Google Slide presentation was shared with students
  • Unit 1 Google Slide presentation has also been shared with the students (Oct. 5th 2017)
New Unit Starting November 15th - Chasse aux indices
  • past tense of regular verbs 
  • use adverbs ending in - ment 
  • Final Task - writing a mystery story
